Your Case Worker Gave Some Bad Advice…

…and your small nonprofit has been sent a complaint.

Does your Directors and Officers policy protect the organization in this type of case? Simply, No.

A lot of small nonprofits think that having a Directors and Officers (D&O) policy will protect them in the event of any kind of claim. But if that claim originates from the services you provide or from a bodily injury or property damage, the D&O policy more than likely will not apply.

Small Nonprofits that provide direct services, regardless of how seemingly ‘unprofessional’ they are, need to have Social Service Professional Liability to properly address their exposures. Some General Liability is good to have to: All of these policies protect the Directors and Officers for different types of losses!

May I eventually figure out how to not discuss insurance so insurancy!
